NAPA and fit as a fiddle
NAPA is a national partner with Age UK’s fit as a fiddle programme funded by the BIG Lottery Fund. The aim of the programme is to enhance physical activity, healthy eating and mental well-being for older people on a national scale.
NAPA is currently working with care homes around the country on two different projects, Come to Tea and Friends & Family.

NAPA Training Days - Red Cross
The following training days are taking place:
| Red Cross Hand Massage | Tuesday 2nd November |
| Red Cross Neck & Shoulder | Tuesday 16th November |
NAPA Members £60 per place
Non members £90 per place
Training days will run from 10am till 4.00pm
Venue for training will be Hammersmith, London.
Places are limited to 12 per session.Please download the application form and forward it to the NAPA office as soon as possible.

NAPA Training Days – Activities for People with Dementia
NAPA is delighted to offer an in depth training day, which focuses on activities for people with dementia.
The day has the following learning outcomes.
Upon completion of the workshop participants will:
- Understand the 4 stages of dementia
- Appreciate the value of memory boxes and learn how to include them in the activity programme
- Use practical examples of sensory activities to use in the late stages of dementia
- Explore using humour to develop different activities
Glasgow- Wednesday 29th September (Sense Scotland)
Dundee- Thursday 30th September (West Park Conference Centre)
Inverness – Friday 1st October (Express By Holiday Inn Hotel, Inverness)
The cost of the training is £70 per NAPA member and £110 for non members.

NAPA Training Day - Activities for People with Dementia
NAPA is delighted to offer an in depth training day, which focuses on activities for people with dementia.

- Discussed the role of the Professional Care Worker in services to people with cognitive impairments
- gained new activity ideas and shared experiences
- identified how to access information about activity resources
- Become familiar with the Pool Activity Level (PAL) Instrument
- Identified issues regarding the implementation of the PAL
- explored how to facilitate the engagement of people with different levels of ability
