Who We Work With

As a small charity that is aiming to influence something as vast and complex as the care sector we have to work closely with others in order to make a difference. We have established strong working relationships with the following organisations

Age Concern & Help the Aged

Help the Aged is an international charity fighting to free disadvantaged older people from poverty, isolation and neglect. Help the Aged have been very supportive in offering time and expertise to NAPA particularly in promoting our work to others. Our Strategic Director sits on the steering group for the My Home Life project which seeks to support the quality of life in care homes. NAPA is also an active member of the Social Policy Age Information Network (SPAIN) and we support the Sunshine Project that works with volunteers in care settings.

Age Concern

We are working with Age Concern England on a major project to promote physical fitness and well being amongst older people. We also work with Age Concern regional groups and day centres offering training, advice and guidance.

College of Occupational Therapists (COT)

We have a formal partnership with COT in order to promote activity provision for older people. We have worked together on producing an assessment guide for benchmarking good practice in care homes which will be published in October 2007. Our members can now become Associates of the College if certain criteria are met. We are exploring ways to encourage OT’s to support activity providers in the workplace.
